1. Who we are

AX-NEWS is a private tech intelligence aggregator running at ax-news.com. It collects and displays publicly available news from 200+ RSS sources.

2. Data we collect from visitors

• Anonymous article views — when you view an article, we record a SHA-256 hash of your IP address to count unique views. The raw IP is never stored.
• No tracking cookies — anonymous visitors receive no cookies.
• Server logs — standard nginx access logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

3. Data we collect from registered users

• Username and hashed password (bcrypt).
• Optional email address for account recovery.
• Read history and knowledge notes you create.
• Session tokens stored in a secure, HttpOnly cookie.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Article content is fetched from public RSS feeds and attributed to original sources.

5. Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. View hashes are retained for 90 days then purged. Server logs are retained for 30 days.

6. Your rights

Registered users may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting the administrator.
