The 2025 Daytona 500, NASCAR’s flagship race, is set for February 16, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. EST at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. The start was moved to an hour earlier due to forecasts of a 60% chance for rain and 30-plus mph winds later on in the day.
Though the time change, the race had several delays imposed on it. After just 11 laps, officials called the race to an immediate halt. When the race was under red flag, defending champion William Byron was leading.
Former President Donald Trump graced the event a second time at the Daytona 500. He called the race a glimpse of the American spirit and took part in pre-race celebrations by leading the drivers on celebratory laps.
The race is currently still stopped due to weather. Meanwhile, fans can catch the live race on Fox or through the Fox Sports app. For instant updates, official NASCAR websites and various sports news outlets report on the race live.
